Inclement Weather Information
As we watch the potential for winter weather later this week, Rockwall ISD will continue monitoring conditions and planning accordingly.
If any changes affect school operations, we will notify families and staff directly. If weather conditions impact school operations, families and staff will receive a direct message by phone, email, and through the Rockwall ISD mobile app (App Store or Google Play) so that families can plan accordingly.
Please verify that your Skyward Family Access information is up to date.
RHS Cheer
The Rockwall Cheer program placed eighth out of 71 teams at the UIL 6A Division I state competition, one of the toughest cheerleading divisions in Texas.
Competing alongside some of the state’s strongest programs, the team delivered a confident performance that reflected weeks of hard work and steady growth. Over the past several weeks, athletes showed increased focus, commitment, and trust in the process as they prepared for the state stage.
The team pushed through challenges during the season and rose to the occasion when it mattered most, putting together a routine they can be proud of on the UIL floor. Coaches and supporters credit the positive culture of the program and the strong backing from families and the community for helping make the achievement possible.
With UIL complete, Rockwall Cheer now looks ahead to the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) competition!
Kindness Week at RHS & Rock Nine
Kindness Week is February 9-12 on both campuses.
Last day to purchase a RHS Yearbook is Jan. 30
Applies to all RHS and Rock Nine students.
CTE Showcase at GBCCA
Rock Nine students and their families are invited to attend the CTE Showcase at the GBCCA on January 22.
RHS Wrestling
RHS Wrestling delivered an incredible performance this weekend at the Trojan Classic, bringing home both hardware and school pride. The boys’ team captured the championship title, while the girls’ team fought their way to an impressive 3rd place finish out of 70 teams, making it one of the strongest showings in the entire tournament. The championship roster included Hunter Gordon, Timmy Fitzgerald, Dominic Wilson, Jai’Christian Washington, Avery Fitzgerald, and Leona Layne, whose teamwork, determination, and grit carried them through a tough field of competitors. From start to finish, the Jackets showed focus, confidence, and resilience, rising to the moment when it mattered most. Congratulations to all the athletes on an outstanding tournament!
PTO Donates Board Games
Thanks to the generosity of our PTO, our students now have new ways to relax and connect during the school day! The PTO recently purchased a variety of board games that students can check out from the library.
These new additions come at the perfect time, giving students a positive, screen-free option to enjoy while they’re on campus. A huge thank you, again, to the RHS PTO for investing in something that supports both student well-being and a more connected school culture!
Rock Nine TAFE Students Advance to State
Rock Nine Principles of Education students recently participated in the TAFE Area Competition and advanced to state.

Orchestra at All Region
Twenty-six Rockwall High School students participated in the TMEA Region 3 All-Region Orchestra this past weekend, representing the school at the regional level. The students delivered a strong performance in the culminating concert, showcasing their dedication and musical talent. Rockwall High School is proud of their hard work and accomplishment.
