FAQ

  • How do I request homework if I am going to be absent?  You may email your teachers.  The email address will be found under STAFF on our website.  Also, listed will be a link to each teachers’ webpage page.  Be sure to check the teacher’s webpage for homework updates.
  • What do I do if I am absent? Your parent or guardian may update the student’s Skyward attendance page. Your parent or guardian can phone the attendance office at 972-771-7559 to notify the school of your absence; but then you must provide a written note from your parent or guardian to the attendance office within five days after your return to school. If you have been to the doctor, taken a college day, or had some other type of absence that is excused, bring in documentation for that absence when you return. Be sure to check your teachers web pages for homework and further instructions.
  • What is the 10/10 Rule?  Students are not given passes during the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of class.
  • What do I do if I am late to class? If you are less than 10 minutes late, report immediately to class. If you are more than 10 minutes late, sign in at the attendance office.
  • What do I do if I become sick during the school day?  Obtain a pass from your teacher and report to the nurse’s office.
  • Where is lost and found? Smaller items can be found in the front office, larger items – backpacks, jackets ect will be found in the cafeteria annex, in a bin on the far right wall.
  • How do I request a duplicate diploma?  RHS does not keep copies of diplomas.  You will need to contact Jostens.
  • How do I request a transcript? If you are a graduate or previously attended Rockwall High School and need to send a transcript to a college make your request through Parchment by clicking here.If you need a transcript for employment or personal reasons, please contact Christin Allgood at  Christin.Allgood@rockwallisd.org or by phone at 972-771-7339 x 7213.
  • What do I do if I need to see a counselor? Make an appointment in the counseling center 972-771-7339 x 7207
  • What do I do if I left something in the car?  Ask for permission to see your assistant principal to obtain a pass to go to the parking lot. Do NOT leave the building unless you get permission to do so first.
  • Where do visitors park?  There is dedicated visitor parking in the circle, in front of Rockwall High School.  Please do not park in the staff lot behind the school.  For security purposes those doors are locked during the school day.
  • What if I have to leave school? Both the school and your parents need to be aware of where you are at all times.  You need to have a parent contact the school prior to leaving campus. The attendance office will issue you a pass to leave. If you return to school, report to the attendance office for a pass back to class.
  • Does RHS serve breakfast?  Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. daily.
  • Can a parent or friend bring fast food for me at lunch?  No.  Texas Department of Agriculture law prohibits outside food or drink (fast food) to be delivered or brought to campus for a student to eat.  Students may bring a sack lunch prepared from home or purchase a meal in the cafeteria.
  • Can I have someone come and visit me for lunch? Friends or students from other campuses are not allowed on campus during the school day. We do not accept lunch deliveries to students from any person other than a parent.  You may not have lunches from fast food or other restaurants brought to you at school.
  • How do I know who my Assistant Principal is? A-Da David Gear, De-H Cody Record, I-P Jeff Chandler, Q-Z Michelle Kindred.
  • When are detentions and Thursday Night School held?  Detention is held on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Thursday night school is held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. All students must arrive promptly and have school work with them.What if I need to use the telephone?  If you have an emergency, see your assistant principal. Generally, office phones are for business use only. Students are not allowed to use classroom phones. Remember, using a cell phone or paging device is not allowed within the school building during regular school hours.
